Nestled between the twin national parks of the Tarra Bulga and the Ninety Mile Beach, Bruthen Creek Free Range Pork operates out of idyllic Woodside in Victoria’s South Gippsland region. Birthed to meet a growing demand for quality free range pork products, our farm is perfectly positioned on a secluded 50 acres to ensure a happy, healthy environment for our pigs.
We believe that all pigs should be raised in ethical, humane conditions, free from chemical contamination and with a consideration for the surrounding environment. Changing the way pigs are grown commercially will only happen if the public tastes the difference!
Free-range, stress-free, healthy pork will always surpass factory farmed and inferior imported pork. Our pigs are happy pigs, rotated around paddocks pre-sown with nutritional grasses. Their diet is supplemented by a balanced crushed-grain mix, and completed with mineral licks. No swill or meat products are permitted on our farm. Once you have tasted our free-range pork, you’ll wonder what you have been eating all these years!
Our pigs are raised in a sustainable and organic manner, free from herbicide and pesticide contamination. The resulting pork product – professionally prepared by one of the best local butchers – is tender, tasty, and deliciously juicy. Once you’ve eaten our free range pork products, you will never settle for less! But what makes our pork so delicious? We say it’s a combination of the pig breed. In our case we breed rare Large Blacks crossed with Large Whites. Other important factors include diet and ensuring a stress free environment. Our processes produce just the right amount of fat, resulting in a slightly marbled, delicious meat.
